Pelvic binder placementThe Journal of bone and joint surgery. British volume 2011
Accurate placement of a pelvic binder improves reduction of unstable fractures of the pelvic ring.
Only around half of binders sat at trochanteric level, and placement too high was the commonest error. In open-book injuries, high binders left a significantly wider symphyseal gap than correctly placed ones.

Preperitoneal pelvic packingThe Journal of trauma 2007
Preperitonal pelvic packing for hemodynamically unstable pelvic fractures: a paradigm shift.
Packing was associated with rapid haemorrhage control, reduced post-procedure transfusion and low mortality from acute haemorrhage, with only a minority needing subsequent angioembolisation.

Acute THA for acetabular fractureThe Journal of bone and joint surgery. American volume 2002
Acute total hip arthroplasty for selected displaced acetabular fractures: two to twelve-year results.
Most patients achieved good or excellent hip scores with a low revision rate for acetabular component loosening, supporting acute arthroplasty as a viable option in selected patients.

Tile classificationThe Journal of bone and joint surgery. British volume 1988
Pelvic ring fractures: should they be fixed?
Argued that stable (type A) injuries do well without surgery, whereas unstable injuries, particularly vertically unstable posterior ring disruptions, are associated with persistent pain and deformity and benefit from anatomical reduction and stable fixation.
